Domain Name sites got a real boost in the arm when these guys debuted a superbowl ad that raised much controversy. Registration went from something obscure to something mainstream overnight. GoDaddy as a service is a solid one stop shop for all of your needs to start a new website. They can handle hosting for people with a $100 a year budget and people looking to buy a six figure domain name.

GoDaddy is more or less like any other domain purchasing site, but they’ve made it pretty user friendly because it’s a one stop shop where they’ll host the domain for you, setup email, easily plugin wordpress so you can have a blog, etc.
One downside is the site can be REALLY slow at times.
I think the commercials are kind of gimicky, but the service is good.
