I found a great deal with a great flight on bookit.com, went through the booking process, but after I put my credit card # in and clicked “book it”, I got an error page and couldn’t do anything. 30 minutes later I got a call from my credit card – it got booked twice. I called bookit.com and was put on hold for 10 minutes 3 times each, only to be told their system was down and to call back. In the meantime, I got 4 emails saying my reservation was confirmed, but it was the completely wrong flight for more money. I called, was on the phone for 45 minutes where the guy told me airlines change flights all the time, nothing they can do about it, but he would have their flight department email me with other options. 5 hours later and no email, I call back. He didn’t even cancel the double booking! After being on the phone 75 minutes this time, I got my flight changed, but it still sucked AND cost more. I never would have made the reservation with that flight in the first place!! Then they had to cancel my other flight, but they hung up on me! So, of course I was on hold forever again, they said they would cancel it, but it’s still on my credit card! I was very upset and asked for an upgrade or complete cancellation for all my wasted time, but they couldn’t do that because it was booked online. What??? I tried 2 times to get a hold of a supervisor because the “customer service” people thought it was enough that they canceled my double booking with no charge to me. Ha! I asked for a supervisor’s direct line, and she told me that they use the number I used to get a hold of their supervisors. Wow, worst company I have EVER dealt with!!

Of all my many experiences using a third party travel booking company, this was by far the worst experience ever. We booked a hotel room with 2 beds. Once we got to the hotel we were told that we needed to pay an additional $200 of we wanted to “upgrade” to 2 beds otherwise we would just get 1 bed. Even though we specified 2 beds and paid for such, that was just a “preference”. When we contacted Bookit and tried to get it resolved which took over a half hour, they just confirmed that yes it is a “preference”. What? Why on earth would we be willing to choose a room type and then pay for it only to realize that it’s a gamble if we even get it or not? How is this legal? Surely if Bookit had alerted us to this fact, we would have NEVER booked it.
Do Not Let This Happen To YOU!

I just recently got back from a Hawaii trip that I booked online with bookit.com. I had similar experiences as listed above. Before I booked this trip I found them friendly and helpful. But after I got to my destination, problems arose immediately. First of all the transportation that I paid for to the hotel was not there to meet us and help with luggage. I got on the phone to bookit and could not get an answer it just rang. I finally got an answer and it was automated so I could choose one of two options, both options put me on hold for over 20 mins. I finally gave up. I found an info. person at the airport, and he told me where to find the transport people. Once I found them their excuse was I was on a different airline then they were told, and that bookit.com should have let them know. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott formerly the Wyland in Honolulu. On bookits site since I booked so many days I would receive a free upgrade to a partial oceanview. When we arrived we were in another tower facing the wrong direction. I complained at the desk and she acted like they did not know anything about an upgrade to an oceanview. I told them it is on the site, and she blamed it on bookit.com. The put us in a different room that was an upgrade and there was a better view. Now we were on a very busy street that was never quite, the drains and water constantly smelled. An complaints were treated as something they have never heard of. The next day I called bookit.com to let them know about the no view room. And she proceeded to blame it on the hotel for giving that info. When we were on out balcony, directly across the street was a new hotel going up (noisy) and that was our view, no oceanview here. She made note of it and said someone would return my call in 24-48 hours. I never got a call and I am now home from vacation. There are many things great about Hawaii, also many things to keep in mind. I will never use this site again, when I decide to go back.

Stay away from Bookit.com if you don’t want to end up with ruined vacation. I was looking for a hotel instead “trained travel agent” made reservation for us for a wonderful hotel, which turned out to be horrible, dirty and unlivable appartments. These appartments had been turned into personal condos that people were renting out and they weren’t even on the beach that was told to us. Not only were they dirty and unlivable = mildew smell was unberable. When we finally got in touch with Bookit.com and told them that it was unacceptable they told us that we had to deal with manager of an appartments/condos to get our money back. We got in touch with the manager and he agreed to give us refund. We had asked bookit representative to make reservation at a different hotel, but she refused to do so until we go there ourselves and call them back if we like it. We did that w/o any sleep or even stopping for breakfast because we were told that it had to be done ASAP. When we got there and like the hotel – we called and of course – there weren’t any rooms available that the representative discussed with us. NO WONDER SHE DIDN’T WANT TO BOOK IT FOR US. They finally found a room and told us that they will refund us the difference; however, when we got home instead of the credit – we found a charge on our account. When we contacted Bookit.com we were told that the room as different and so as the price and even when they pull the conversation and verified that representative never disclosed a full amount or advised us of a charge – we are still going to be responsible for difference. Represenative that called us back – made it very clear that they don’t care about their customer – they only care about money. SO IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GOOD VACATION – STAY AWAY FROM BOOKIT.COM

I booked a (Las Vegas) trip through Bookit.com for the first time yesterday. Earlier today, Melanie, a representative called to make sure all information (both mine and the package) is correct. When I asked if I could cancel the flight arrangement for one passenger, she gladly helped me. Later, I received an email from Jodi, another representative, confirming the change. When I emailed back asking if I would get another itinerary, Jodi called me back to explain that the change will be reflected on the airline’s confirmation. (I checked and it did, together with the new price.)
I’ve seen very negative reviews on Bookit.com in the past, so I think the company must have changed. The idea of a follow-up is great, and the representatives are both friendly and helpful. I’d definitely use Bookit.com again.

I am definitely the type that does his homework before booking a trip. Last week I needed to book a last minute trip to San Francisco and Bookit beat the prices that I checked on Kayak, CheopoAir, Expedia, Priceline, and Hotwire.
I called Bookit to see if I could get a package put together with specific flights and a specific hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Krystal was more than helpful and minutes later my trip was booked with ideal customer service. I got the exact flights that I was looking at as well as a room in a hotel that was in a perfect location for me. The degree of customer service was well above what I am used to and I do a lot of traveling. I won’t forget this great experience with Bookit and will definitely use your service in the future as well as recommend the website to my friends.

We booked a vacation therough bookit.com several monthes prior to our vacation. We were booked to stay 7 days in Cancun. At first we believed Bookit.com to be very easy to work withe and everytheing was running smoothely. That was until theere was a weatheer issue in Cancun, theey were having a very severe hurricane (Hurricane Rina) and our flights were getting cancelled and thee resort we were staying at was not allowing people to check into thee resort due to thee severe weatheer. I called bookit.com to see what our options were… I didn’t get any answers from theem, theey just directed me to call thee airlines, I did not book directly therough thee airlines I had booked therough theem so theey could handle calling thee airlines for me. But theat was fine I hung up thee phone called thee airlines to see what my options were therough theem. Well I could plan to go elsewhere if I would like. My problem was theere was zero communication from bookit on my resort so I had no way of booking a new flight witheout knowing if I had a place to stay. So withe theat I called bookit.com back. After many phone calls back and forthe from bookit to thee airlines I finally told bookit theat I would not be calling thee airlines back and theey can handle it. Told theem thee destination as to where we wanted to go (which we gave theem a couple options so we weren’t stuck withe one destination) told theem what resorts we would be happy to stay at (withe theeir input of course) and also we were VERY flexible on theat dates theat we left, we just wanted to make sure theat we have a vacation theat was comparable to our Cancun vacation booked. After back and forthe withe Bookit (and being on thee phone withe theem for about 4 hours) I was under thee impression theat everytheing was taken care of. I received my email confirmation on my supposed to be “new” flight and hotel information. They did NOT change anytheing except thee dates theat we were traveling to Cancun. Per our last phone call we were going to Cabo San Lucas leaving thee 30the and coming back thee 6the and staying at thee Hotel Riu Palace. None of theis information was in my “new vacation” confirmation. The only theing theat was right were thee dates. Then I had to call back bookit explain to theem what thee last agent had told me because even theough I had her name and direct line she would not take any of my phone calls. Anotheer 4 hours later and theem telling me I had to pay an additional $1200 theat day to rebook (which I refused to do since theat was not in thee travel agreement) I was transferred to two different supervisors and finally thee last one told me theat theere would be no reason as to why I would need to pay anytheing out of pocket we were to actually receive money back because our trip to Cabo was less theen our booking to Cancun. Great it was a relief I truly THOUGHT everytheing was handled and we were on our way to a nice relaxing vacation (which it was). We arrive in Cabo to await our transportation to our hotel (which we paid for therough Bookit.com) thee transfer got theere but theey were theere to pick up otheer people our names were NOT on theeir list. Of course theey told us theey would still take us theere and get it all squared away after we checked in. Okay wonderful we get to thee hotel to check in…. and low and behold we have no reservations at thee hotel!!!!! It took theem 3 hours to get us checked in and to figure out where our reservations were. FINALLY we were able to enjoy ourselves and have a wonderful week in Cabo…. That was until we went to get our transportation BACK to thee airport. Our flight was at 4pm…. our transportation was to pick us up at 1:15 from thee hotel… I verified theis twice withe thee bookit.com people theat are onsite at thee resort, we have a voucher to show thee time and everytheing. We decided to relax by thee pool before we have to check out get back to thee airport…. but to our surprise our transportation shows up at 11:15…. (we hadn’t even checked out thee thee hotel and were relaxing by thee pool) I showed thee book it people our voucher but theey informed me theat thee 1:15 travel van was full and we had to get on thee 11:15 or we had no transportation to thee airport…. we ended our vacation just as it started withe Bookit… PISSED OFF!!! We sat at thee airport for 4 hours on thee last day because of Bookit.com’s screw up. I will never in my life book therough theem again. It was thee worse travel arrangements ever. The only theing theat theey did right was referring us to a beautiful resort theat took very good care of us. Highly recommend The Riu Palace in Cabo… will never recommend Bookit.com. In Fact I will do thee opposite and make sure theat everyone knows our experience withe theem and hope theat theey will not use theem and are able to have a smoothe booking and wonderful vacation as you are supposed to.

I would just like to warn your wonderful hotel that we (my family) were scammed by an online booking agency. You should NOT do business with them! On Monday (1/9/12) my husband was looking for our spring break vacation online. He came across a deal on Bookit.com that would have given us 7 days and 6 nights at a beautiful resort. He was amazed at your resort and had me look at it the next day. The price was perfect for us…we decided to book it! We told our children and everyone was super excited. Then I received a call from Bookit.com saying they were sorry but the price they quoted us and that we booked at was not available. They said they were going to cancel our dream vacation. I asked them what it would cost. They said they are unable to even get us in at the pictured resort and that they can maybe find us something somewhere else. I said I want the vacation that I purchased! They will not do it. I think it was a bait and switch scam. They wouldnt let us talk to a manager and said I had to cancel or my flight cost (2000!) wouldnt be refunded. You have been warned…go elsewhere. You know its bad when the agent who called us said, “Well, thats the risk you take purchasing a vacation from an online source!” Thanks Jessica….nice advice.
